![]() By Jeff Marchesseault GUAM - He still walks among us but he's having a hard time proving it to his pension provider. Air Force veteran and Valdosta, Georgia resident Tommy Curles served in Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Guam during the Vietnam War, during which he suffered hearing loss. He stopped receiving his disability checks from the Department of Veterans Affairs after he changed addresses. When his checks were returned to sender, the VA supposed he was dead and had him declared. Now he's doing all he can to prove he's still alive and keep the checks coming. Read the Moultrie Observer story, "Declared dead by VA, Curles struggling to prove otherwise", October 29, 2009.
