CDC Warns of Spike in Measles Cases in the U.S., Urges Vaccination
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a warning about a recent spike in measles cases in the United States, posing a threat to the country’s elimination status since 2000. Nearly one-third of all measles cases since 2020 have occurred this year, with 83% of cases reported in unvaccinated individuals or those with unknown vaccination status. The CDC is urging people to get vaccinated, especially if they are traveling abroad.
