A deadly tornado outbreak struck eastern Nebraska and western Iowa, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. The small town of Minden was particularly hard hit, with one man losing his life after being trapped in his basement during the storm.
Nicholas Ring, a resident of Minden, was taken to Nebraska Medicine in Omaha after the tornado struck. Despite efforts to save him, Ring tragically passed away on Saturday night. The storm caused extensive damage in Minden, with a portion of the town flattened and some homes literally torn apart and pulled from their foundations.
The damage was particularly severe on the east side of Minden, where about half of the homes were severely damaged. In addition to the loss of life, three other individuals in Minden were injured during the storm. Thankfully, they were all treated and released.
