Sonos Announces Redesigned Mobile App for Android and iOS; Discontinues Controller Apps for Windows and macOS
Guam – Sonos, the popular audio technology company, is set to launch a redesigned mobile app on May 7th for both Android and iOS users. This new app will replace the existing controller apps for Windows and macOS, with a new web app allowing for remote access to Sonos speakers.
The upcoming app redesign promises to be more reliable, faster, and customizable than ever before. Users will have the ability to customize the layout, pin favorite playlists, and easily access their speakers with a simple swipe up gesture. Additionally, a persistent search bar at the bottom of the app will enable quick music searches, with the option to set a preferred music service for search results.
Sonos CEO Patrick Spence expressed his excitement about the app redesign, noting that it will enhance the home music listening experience. He believes that this update is just the beginning, setting the stage for future expansion into new categories and experiences.
The new app will prioritize performance and reliability, ensuring a smooth and seamless user experience. With these changes, Sonos aims to provide an even better way for users to enjoy their music, whether they are at home or on the go.
